When he was just three weeks old, Ethan was diagnosed with a genetic disorder called Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS). PWS affects approximately 1 in every 10,000- 15,000 children, however, there is still no cure. Children with PWS will endure many struggles throughout their lifetime. The main symptom is the uncontrollable hunger they feel always. Individuals with PWS never feel full. Combined with a low metabolism rate, the risk of obesity is much higher for those with PWS. Other symptoms of PWS include low muscle tone, short stature, a lower IQ and learning, and behavioral difficulties.
Ethan is such a blessing to all of us and couldn't be loved more! Every day he is improving and growing, and we are all so proud of him. Since the day he was born, he has been a fighter and continues to amaze us with his strength. Thank you for taking the time to read about our wonderful Ethan!
